Excellent Food and Service
by Bob Black
We had a wonderful evening, again, at Rumrunners. The food was excellent (spinach salad, the best nachos we have ever had, and tasy bumble-berry pie and cheesecake for dessert), the service spot-on, and an incredible view. Overall an excellent dining experience. Highly recommended.

Attention tourists!! If you are visiting Victoria, and want a fabulous meal after visiting the wonderful Butchart Gardens, or spending the day touring the local wineries, you must go to The Rumrunner Pub in the quaint seaside town of Sidney.
This restaurant is all the way down Main Street, right by the water. The atmosphere is casual, but somehow still elegant. It looks like a lighthouse from outside, and the interior has an old school maritime theme. There is a boardwalk right in front, which provides for a wonderful after dinner stroll along the water.
We had polenta fries, steamed mussels and clams, and fried tiger prawns for appetizers, and a NY strip steak, and a cedar plank halibut with smoked salmon draped over the top, for entrees. All of it was of the highest quality. Everything clicked, and it truly turned out to be one of the best tasting, most memorable meals I have experienced in many years. We also tried several different types of their specialty rum drinks, and they were all tasty. Service was great.
It was our anniversary, and we drove into Sidney on a whim, and found the Rumrunner by accident. It turned out to be a perfect end to a perfect day.
